This showed up today and it really speaks to me and thought I’d share it with you!

IMG_4396I want to start this post off on the right foot (pun pretty much intended).  The Electric Run was a complete blast!!  Music, lights, sights, dancing, Neffmau5 Land and more.  This event delivered on almost all counts.  It’s not the biggest deal in the world as the run is intended to be a fun night out with friends, however they do label this run on their website as a 5k and it was quite shy of that mark.  2.75 miles to be exact in Sacramento (depending on which gps/app one uses).  That being said, would I do it again?  You bet!  I am also happy to say this is the first run I was able to do with my wife, as she has started her journey on the running trail.  Watch below for highlights and let me know what you think about the Electric Run if you’ve participated in one.

IMG_3965Wow, what a great day for a run.  The weather was wonderful, and the people here are all in good spirits (mainly because of some big football game involving the favorite team 49 ers).  I was shocked to see there were many different events and found that quite refreshing. There was a 10k relay, which I remember reading about but didn’t really understand it until I got half way through the race, and the hammer of common sense decided to strike! OHHHH it’s like a for real relay!  Yeah, ok I’m that new to big event races.  There were also these great 40 yard dashes for kids of different ages, which I thought was really cool.  Lot’s of vendor booths as usual, and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage was a sponsor, and as a result kids run free!  Check out the highlights below.

So I’ve read it in some running magazines, and a few on-line articles here and there.  3 times a week do intervals. . . Don’t forget to do intervals. . I often wondered about this mysterious training exercise, but never could find the definition.  Well here it is, the mystery revealed.Out of Breath Read the rest of this entry »

14739411_sAs the title would suggest, I am a Realtor, and I am training.  I am currently training to run the Super Bowl 10K Run!  The Super Bowl run is part of an All in SRA series being sponsored by my office at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Read the rest of this entry »

I finished the MandaRUN 10k on Sunday November 18th, 2012.  It was slower than I would have liked, but I sure enjoyed the scenery (race results here).  Loomis is a beautiful town (except for the uphill on Taylor Rd. that seemed to go on forever).  The event was great, and I had the chance to meet many wonderful people and see some familiar faces also.

I visited some of the vendor booths, one of which was a mobile pizza oven known as Firevine Pizza.  It smelled fantastic as you can imagine.  There was also a massage booth by the name of Much Kneaded Zen Massage, which I patronized.  Felt great after what was a tough 6.25 miles for me.

The real highlight for me was meeting Mr. Alvarez, 77 years young and just finished a 1/2 marathon.  I sure hope I’m running marathons at that age.  Way to go sir!

Thanks for taking the time to check out the site, you can view the video highlights below!

It didn’t take long to realize just how much my upper body had been lacking.  My first outdoor ‘boot camp style’ training session really did a number on me.

Was quite a chilly morning October 28, 2012.  I had been asked at my office (Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate), to sit a booth at an event called Runnin’ For Rhett.  I’m sure glad I did! Read the rest of this entry »
